About the founders

Karen and Deiby Novoa are the siblings behind Koba Studio.
The name Koba comes from their grandmother's surname, as a way to keep that origin present within the studio.

Their work combines watercolor painting and mixed media, and experimental ceramics, exploring both detail and more unpredictable processes such as lusters, saggar, and obvara.

They have lived in Colombia, Spain, Canada, and Thailand. This mix of places and experiences naturally influences their way of working with color, materials, and the artistic process.

Through Koba Studio, they share their work while building a creative space focused on art and experimentation.
